Yeast infection is just one of a range of various infections to occupy the female genital area and the vulva (the area surrounding the genital area) causing the frequently noted symptoms of yeast infection in women. It is also called by the names of Candida, Monilia and Thrush.

In fact, there are three kinds of yeast infection in women:

1) Trichomoniasis: when protozoa with parasitic behavior generate the infection of the genital area.

2) Bacterial vaginosis: infection that in the majority is socially transmitted, caused by bacteria.

3) Yeast infection: yeast-like microorganisms known as Candida albicans are responsible for the genital infection in this instance.

Candida is typically present in human guts, throats, mouths and genitourinary complexes and is naturally present in the bowels (in particular, Candida Albicans, a fungal yeast-like microorganism).

Candida can be beneficial in identifying and eliminating bacteria and other disease-inducing microbes in the bowels. Candida albicans can therefore help the body to defend itself from other bacterial threats.

If our inner body apparatus keeps the balance correctly between acid and alkali, our immune system is sufficiently powerful and the friendly probiotic bacteria are more numerous than the Candida organisms (probiotic or friendly bacteria include L. salivarius, B. bifidum, Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and Lactobacillus acidophilus), then in our intestines, Candida is restricted to the right level. In a healthy person there can be millions of Candida microbes that are in fact of internal benefit.

The disaster scenario for Candida yeast overpopulation happens however, when a fragile immune system, a loss of friendly bacteria or toxicity or acidity in the blood works against our internal system.

These factors and cofactors push up Candida overpopulation and are also causal in worsening an already established yeast infection. Like other health problems, Candida yeast infection is caused not only by various primary and secondary considerations, but also their interrelationships.

These factors directly or indirectly constitute the environment in which the multiplication of Candida is unbounded and causes a range of common yeast infection symptoms, comprising psychological, mental, lifestyle and external elements also.

Candida albicans can mutate from simple, harmless yeast form to a type of mycelial fungus that spreads throughout the body. Candida Overpopulation is in fact a phenomenon resulting from internal imbalance.

The conditions which run from the irritating to the catastrophic include the leaky gut syndrome, adverse nutrient reaction, rashes, brain fog and irritation, itchiness, swollenness, inflamed areas and white discharge in th genital area. This happens as a result of Candida changing in form from yeast to fungus, and growing root structures called rhizoids that hook into the intestinal walls piecing holes. Yeast, toxic debris, bacteria and undigested food then move through the holes and into the bloodstream.

Candida yeast infection overpopulation happens mainly because of:

• Poor dietary decisions and wrong acid-alkaline balance in the gut.

• Loss of beneficial probiotic bacteria.

• A depressed immune system.

• Higher levels of toxicity in the intestinal tract.

These 4 items make for the degraded context for Candida Albicans to multiply and mutate from yeast to fungus, which in turn results in the accompanying symptoms such as yeast infection.

Lifestyle considerations such as cleanliness, stress, and even the kind of clothes that you put on can also worsen a Candida condition that has already begun. Hormones out of balance, (during menstruation, for example), use of antibiotics, prescribed medicaments, steroids and contraceptive pills can also trigger yeast infection scenarios.

This also explains the blockage that physicians face when trying to eradicate this recurring medical condition using conventional prescribed and over the counter drugs. Yeast infection, especially in its most common variants such as yeast infection in women, is fundamentally an internal problem brought on by two or more factors and therefore a challenge to solve.

To really eliminate the problem at the base, rather than only treating the symptoms of the problem (external appearances) means a multidimensional holistic approach. It is a fact as well that every health challenge including yeast infection in women has this multi-dimensional nature.

There are other names for a yeast infection. Some of these are "thrush", Candida Albicans, Candidiasis, Candida yeast overgrowth and even Candida Tropicalis. Whatever name you know it by you should know that yeast infection is the most common infection of all.

In fact, 80% of adult women have suffered or will suffer from vaginal yeast infection, and a high number of adults and even children suffer from one or another variant of yeast infection, since it can develop in any moist, warm area of our body. There are several things you should know about it.

The most common name for yeast infection is Candida Albicans. This is a fungus that is usually present in a healthy body. It is part of a delicate balance, when an abnormal event such as a hormonal or chemical imbalance occurs, the yeast goes out of control producing an infection. Your doctor may call it with a different name.

Some of the symptoms of the yeast infection are a smell of bread and cheese-like discard or liquid, as well as itching. When the yeast infection due to Candida Albican fungus happens in the vagina, it is called Vaginal Candidiasis or Monilial Vaginitis. Other parts of the body that may be affected by yeast infection is the mouth and oral cavity - gums, tongue and palate- certain areas of the skin and the digestive tract. Each of these are known under different names.

If you are suffering from vaginal candidiasis or yeast infection you should pay attention if you’re sexually active. Although is not considered a sexually transmitted disease, in some cases - 15%, more or less — male partners may show a rash on the penile area and it may even itch, after having sex with females suffering from yeast infection in their vagina. Vaginal candidiasis should be treated rightaway since it can be recurrent, even after treatment.

It is extremely important you seek professional help if you think you’re suffering from yeast infection. Your doctor (whatever other names for yeast infection she knows it by) will give you the proper treatment for it. Some advice: to fend off vaginal candidiasis dry your vaginal area carefully after bathing and wear comfortable, loose fitting cotton underwear. You should understand that prevention is always better than cure. Knowing how to prevent the occurrence of yeast infection is more important than finding cure when it takes place.

Many useful items in the kitchen remain undiscovered. With a small amount of effort, some common ingredients and spices can be a powerful medical instrument to treat minor injuries and do away with infections such as yeast infections. Yeast infections can sometimes be created by microorganisms from the Candida albicans. Yeast infection can be handled very well with home remedies.

Candida is a type of micro-organism that exists all the time in the body. When its surroundings including our body changes, the growth of the fungi suddenly increase which creates the infections. This change in the surroundings may vary from acid and alkaline imbalance to poor nutrition. Contributing components include increased consumption of sugar, hormonal alterations, use of antibiotic drugs or contraceptive pills. These factors can stimulate the fungi to be present resulting in very uncomfortable signs.

While there are a variety of treatments available to alleviate the irritation created by a yeast infection, these curatives may be quite costly or will not give you the quick relief you need. Also, there is always the off chance that fungi will acquire a resistance to commercially available medications.

There are newly found remedies to cure a yeast infection, including borax, calcarea carbonica, kali bichromicum, natrum muraiticum, pulsatilla, sepia and sulphur.

You can use good micro-organisms to combat bad micro-organisms. We’re talking about the use of probiotic bacterium which are friendly microbial organisms that occur in nature in the digestive tract and vagina. Candida, which causes yeast infections, is inhibited by probiotic bacteria. These very tiny organisms keep fighting each other. Many of these curatives will not be available in your home. There are many natural, homemade remedies available.

Many people have reported favorable results when using garlic to treat yeast infections. Simply mash up a couple garlic cloves until they are the consistency of a paste. Right away put on the garlic paste to the area around the vagina. Garlic possesses antibacterial qualities that can assist in eliminating those bothersome fungi. The only real disadvantage is its odor.

The use of honey is a more pleasant smelling substitute The honey may not smell as much as the garlic does, but it sure is a lot stickier. Still, according to recommendations applying honey on the affected regions helps alleviate the various symptoms of the infection. You can put on honey and leave it for about 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Another good antibacterial and antifungal cure would be vinegar. In order to get the best results you should mix the vinegar in warm water. In order to see and feel any difference you will need to soak it for a minimum of twenty minutes. Some individuals believe that cider vinegar works better.

Yeast infections are common, so the symptoms have been experienced by most of us, at one time or another. Since the yeast responsible for most infections, Candida albicans, is present almost everywhere, it is also possible for men, women and children to be infected on many parts of the body. Vaginal infections are most common, and the majority of women will experience this problem at least once.

Many women mistake the symptoms of the more common bacterial vaginosis for a yeast infection. In a 2002 study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 77 percent of women who were self treating for a yeast infection actually had a condition caused by a bacteria or parasite instead, and these ailments cannot be treated with natural or over-the-counter medication. Therefore, you should not rely on the outward indications alone - a professional diagnosis is always recommended.

Vaginal Yeast Infections:

The most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection (yeast vaginitis) are:

1. Itching and burning in the vagina and vulva.
2. Soreness, swelling and pain around the vulva.
3. Pain during intercourse or urination.
4. Vaginal discharge. This discharge is not always present, but if there is a discharge it will be odorless or smell like baker’s yeast, and usually has a whitish, thick appearance.

The symptoms of the bacterial vaginosis, which is caused by a common bacteria instead of yeast, can include a thin, white or yellow discharge, and the release of a fishy odor. These infections need to be treated as soon as possible, and over-the-counter anti-fungal medications will not kill the bacteria responsible.

Similar symptoms can also be caused by Trichomoniasis, a parasite, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, which are sexually transmitted bacteria, and irritation caused by chemicals found in soap, colored toilet paper and laundry detergent.

Some women have confused the symptoms of urinary tract infections, kidney infections, appendicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease with the much less serious signs of a yeast infection. Since these are extremely serious illness, it is important to seek professional advice before diagnosing your own symptoms.

Male Yeast Infections:

A male yeast infection is caused by the same organism that causes vaginal yeast infections in women, oral thrush, and diaper rash - Candida albicans.

A male yeast infection shows up as an itching, red rash on the penis. Candidiasis of the penis can also have a white discharge, although uncommon. However, having no symptoms at all is also common and often a more severe form of the symptoms may emerge later.

While male yeast infections are occasionally shared among sexual partners, it is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. Your doctor will prescribe a topical cream to use on the infected area, and it should clear up within a week.

Thrush:

A yeast infection in the mouth of infants and adults is called thrush. It appears as thick white lacy patches that can form anywhere inside the mouth, including the tongue or palate.

If the white patches are scraped away, the area underneath will be red and may bleed. Occasionally, an oral yeast infection can cause the tongue to be red without a white coating.

Older adults often experience thrush under their dentures.

Thrush can be very painful and this can make it difficult to eat and drink, which can lead to dehydration. Any child that goes without drinking liquids for more than 12 hours should be taken to the doctor. The same care should be taken for elderly adults.

Skin Infections:

A fungal skin infection caused by Candida is called cutaneous candidiasis.

You can get a rash caused by yeast almost anywhere, but the more common areas for a skin rash are folded areas like the armpit, in the crotch, under the foreskin, and under the breasts. Obesity can create folds and crevices that form a perfect environment for Candida.

This yeast is also the most common cause of diaper rash.

A Candida rash looks red and flat, with sharp scalloped edges. You may see small pustules around the edges of the rash, the area may itch or burn, and it may be painful. There are usually smaller patches nearby. A rash around the anus may be white or red, and will itch.

If a woman believes she is experiencing signs of infection for the first time, she should see the doctor immediately if she is unsure of the treatment. The doctor will know the proper diagnosis for this type of infection.

Many people ask what the common yeast infection symptoms are. A woman can tell if she suffering if she has a thick vaginal discharge which looks a little like a cottage. But this symptom can be experienced by only about 20% of women who have yeast infections. The discharge may contain a starchy be yellow in color.

In view of the fact that not all women experience a discharge, the easiest way to tell if a woman has yeast infection is if she experiences itchiness in and around her vagina. The itchiness may go hand in hand with a burning sensation. The outer area and the vulva area can become swollen and red, this can result in painful urination and sexual intercourse may also be painful too.

These are the most common and general symptoms of yeast infection, but a woman may experience different symptoms. The best way to determine is by checking for changes in discharge.

Sometimes, a yeast infection may be mistaken as a urinary tract infection, but there is a difference between the two in terms of the burning sensation experienced. In a urinary tract infection, a woman can feel the burning when urine passes down the urethra when it is on its way out, this is different to yeast infections when the burning is caused as the acidic urine hits the irritated skin of the vulva.

It may be quite hard to tell whether you have a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection if you are experiencing symptoms for the first time. It is advisable to see a doctor if any of these signs appear. After you have been diagnosed, the next time you experience burning and itchiness, you will be better placed to know whether it is a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection.

Men are also susceptible suffering with yeast infections although it is unusual for men to develop them they are normally passed on from their female partners. Therefore, it is essential that if you or your partner develops a yeast infection you refrain from unprotected sex until you have both sought treatment. The danger is when only one partner seeks treatment, as the infection can be passed back and forth. For men, yeast infection symptoms can be identified through an itching, red rash and burning at the head of his penis.

Though this is a problem that is regularly glossed over, the truth of the matter is that yeast infections are very common and that at some point in their lives, most people will have them. If you are commonly affected by yeast infections, you’ll find that they can be quite irritating to deal with, but keep in mind that it is possible to get a natural cure, yeast infection or not. If you suffer from yeast infections, think about some of the basic information that you should keep in mind.

Remember that a yeast infection can occur in any place on your body that is commonly damp and moist. These places can feed the growth of the candida albicans bacteria, which is normally a harmless bacteria that grows on your skin. If the balance of your body has been depleted, however, it is worth figuring out what needs to be done to restore it. When you are considering this infection, you might find that you are looking for natural cures. Yeast infections will respond to natural cures, so remember to keep your eyes open.

When you are considering natural cures, yeast infections can be quite insidious. There are a lot of treatments out there, but keep in mind that some of these treatments will simply take care of the symptoms. How often do you get yeast infections? If you are curing them only to have them come right back, there is a good chance that you are not treating the yeast infection itself at all; all you are doing is treating the symptoms, which will not go away permanently because the infection is still there! This can lead to a long string of less than stellar health and well-being, so its time that you took the steps to cure this disorder once and for all!

For natural cures, yeast infections can be difficult to treat, but remember that it is by no means impossible! Remember that you don’t have to hand over a lot of money for expensive drugs, and you don’t have to suffer from the symptoms any more, either. For many people, they are drawn to the idea of a natural cure, but they don’t know where to begin. What products are safe and what can they turn to? You can treat the root cause of yeast infection. And you can do this easily and safely in the privacy of your home.

When you are looking for a natural cure for a yeast infection, you can find this at http://natural-cure-for-yeast-infection.com There is a lot of good information. And if you are looking for a FAST, Safe, Effective and All-Natural Cure for Yeast Infection it is also located here regarding natural treatments for yeast infections, and you’ll know that you have information that you can trust!

Treat the root cause of the yeast infection. It does not matter if it is vaginal, oral or a skin rash. Treating the symptoms of a flare up leaves the symptoms treated….. and the yeast remaining. Ready to flare up again and again. And between flare ups the yeast can cause great harm to your health.

Natural Cure for Yeast Infection answers many questions on how to cure yeast infection in a more natural way!

A yeast infection can be itchy, painful and very inconvenient, affecting not only you but the person that you love. If you think you may have a yeast infection, here are 5 signs to look for that can provide further clues about your condition.

What it Is:

A yeast infection is a condition whereby the natural yeasts in your vagina or other areas of your body begin to flourish more than usual due to an imbalance in the delicate ecology of your body. Yeast infections are uncomfortable, unsightly, and can impede normal, healthy sexual activity. The majority (as high as 75%) of the population will contract a yeast infection at least once during their lifetime.

The causes for such imbalance can be many and can include external agents like soaps and perfumes or internal agents like eating excess sugar or excessive moisture. Yeast tends to grow out of control when your body’s pH balance is disrupted or if certain bacteria that normally keep yeast levels to a minimum are destroyed due to an external influence. Yeasts can also grow out of control after being overfed by sugars for people who have excessively sugary diets.

Signs You May be Infected:

You will often become aware of a having a possible yeast infection when you notice intense, persistent itching in your vagina or vulva areas.

Another sign is excessive vaginal dryness. In yeast infection cases, this is caused by the yeast coating the walls of your vagina in such a way that your normal lubrication process is impeded.

Some people with vaginal yeast infections experience vaginal discharge. This is a white, odorless substance that may resemble cottage cheese.

If sexual relations with your partner have become unexplainably painful, this could also be the sign of a yeast infection.

Finally, if you experience a burning feeling during urination, this could be a yeast infection.

Of course, any of these symptoms could also be the sign of other maladies, so it is best to check with your doctor to be sure.

Treatments:

Treatments for yeast infection run the gamut from prescription drugs to natural remedies. A common remedy is Diflucan, an antifungal antibiotic that should only be taken to cure your yeast infection if prescribed by your doctor.

Natural remedies are also readily available for people who want to avoid medications or who are allergic to them. To find one that works, search the Internet for reviews of trusted remedies or ask friends which remedies have worked for them.

If you have any of the signs mentioned above, you could have a yeast infection. There is no need to worry, however: yeast infections occur for millions of women around the world every year. If you do have one, it is best to get treatment right away with a prescription-based or natural remedy.

Given the discomfort and unpleasantness that usually accompanies a yeast infection, it is always a good idea to seek treatment immediately if you suspect or confirm that you have an infection. A yeast infection can not only affect you, it can also affect your partner in terms of impeding your normal relations.

Yeast infection can strike at anyone at any age. It’s a disease triggered by a fungus called Candida Albicans that causes the body to produce abnormal amounts of yeast. Although yeast is found everywhere in the body, too much of it can be dangerous.

The most common types of yeast infection are vaginal yeast infection, thrush, diaper rash and nail bed infection. Yeast infection is a highly treatable disease that virtually goes away without any complications. There are a lot of available yeast infection treatments for each type of infection and here are some of them.

Treating Vaginal Yeast Infections
Vaginal yeast infection is easily treated with over the counter antifungal creams like Miconazole, Tioconazole, Butoconazole, or Clotrimazole which should be applied to the infected area for one to seven days. Using birth control methods like a condom or a diaphragm is not advisable during this period. For pregnant women it’s best to consult a physician for a remedy.

To prevent vaginal yeast infection from occurring, avoid using douches, feminine sprays, scented toilet paper and deodorant tampons. It is also best to wear cotton underwear and avoid wearing tight pants or panty hoses. When wearing a wet suit or a bathing suit, it is recommended to change out of it right away.

Treating Thrush
The yeast infection of the mouth called thrush can be treated with medicated mouthwashes or lozenges that dissolve in the mouth. A recommended mouthwash to use should contain nystatin that can kill the yeast fungus.

The best prevention for thrush is maintaining good oral hygiene by brushing the teeth at least twice a day, flossing at least once a day and using a mouthwash. For those using dentures, clean them thoroughly before using it. For breastfeeding mothers, it’s best to have a breast check up for yeast infections.

Treating Diaper Rashes
Diaper rashes caused by yeast infection can be treated with over the counter antifungal creams that contain nystatin or through supplements like acidophilus.

Protecting infants or adults from diaper rashes means keeping the covered area clean at all times. It also helps to allow the skin to breathe by not using a diaper at least an hour a day. It’s also recommended to use cotton diapers more often than the disposable ones since cotton allows the skin to breathe more easily.

Treating Nail Bed Infections
Yeast infections of the nail bed are more difficult to treat. A prescription for an antifungal pill is needed but it can also be treated with antifungal laquer which is only proven to work in mild to moderate infections when the nails have not yet been infected by the fungus.

To prevent this infection from occurring and recurring is to regularly keep the skin dry and clean. It is also advised to avoid contact with anyone who is infected with this disease. Wearing gloves when gardening also lowers the chance of nail bed yeast infection from occurring. Another way to go about this is to avoid sharing personal items such as nail clippers or socks.

Yeast infections and its different types are highly treatable and preventable diseases which should last an average of one to two weeks and any time exceeding this means a trip to the doctor.

Information on yeast infection treatments and preventions are available through online medical journals and medical sites but for highly advanced states of yeast infection it’s always best to consult a physician.

Are you a tired as I am of hearing about how great all these so called yeast infection cures are. Thy all sound great but few if any work over the long run. Well, that is about to change. There are a few treatments for yeast infection that are proven and will work to at least treat the initial or acute cases. There are natural cures for Candida build up that work for good. Yes, you never have to suffer any longer.

There are some things that are really annoying in this world and I cannot imagine anything worse than itching related to a yeast infection. Whether it is female, male or baby yeast infections caused from candida (bacterial over growth), they are all annoying. You know what I mean - the kind of itching that will not stop and you scratch until swelling and bleeding occur. It is pure insanity BUT there is reason for good news: You can get rid of a yeast infection in a matter of 24 hours or less.

Up to 75% of women will experience a yeast infection at some point. For some women it can be as frequent as several times a year. Vaginal yeast infections are often called ‘Thrush’.

The most common form of vaginal yeast infection is caused by the fungus Candida albicans. It is quite natural to have this fungus present in the vagina but it is normally kept in check by the acidity of the vagina and ‘good’ bacteria that live there. If something changes the natural balance of things the fungus will increase in numbers and that is what causes the discomfort.

Genital candidiasis symptoms are similar to other diseases that can afflict the genital area. To make an absolute diagnosis of yeast infection requires that a swab be taken from the affected area and sent to a lab for testing.

The traditional way to treat yeast infections is antifungal drugs either applied topically, ingested, or if the problem is vaginal, as a suppository. These drugs usually have an 80-90% cure rate. What about the other 10- 20 %? This is where the danger of misdiagnosis comes in. There is the danger that similar to drug resistant bacteria; fungal infections that do not respond to treatments are becoming more common. HIV-infected women who receive long term antifungal therapy are particularly at risk of developing resistant strains of Candida. The effectiveness of these treatments can be lessened if they are used frequently and/or for a prolonged period.

Among women, yeast infections come second when it comes to reasons for vaginal infections such as discharge, itching and burning. And yeasts that are found in most women can overgrow when environmental changes in the vagina occur. Some of the common reasons for yeast infection spread are steroids and antibiotic. However the following can also contribute to the acquisition of yeast infection: pregnancy, sperm, diabetes, menstruation, and birth control pills. It is also common for yeast infection to occur after menopause.

The Effect of Steroids

Those who have had weak immune systems because of steroids, cancer treatments and diseases like AIDS can have candidal infections in their entire body. The occurrence of such condition can be critical since some organs of the body are affected such as the heart, brain, eye, kidney, lungs, spleen and liver. Such infection can also affect the blood.

A quarter of those who have weak immune systems acquire a systematic illness by Candida. In this illness, their bloodstreams are being accessed by the infection through cuts or skin breakdowns. And with the recurrent use of antibiotics, the bacteria which keep the yeast under control is being eliminated thus causing the build up or development of candidal organisms.

Another cause of yeast infection is the use of urinary catheters and IV ports. These devices are the kinds that are set in the skin and can cause the yeast to invade the body. Moreover, yeasts can be injected directly into an IV drug addict’s deep tissues or blood streams using a needle.

Candidiasis at the Onset

Candidiasis is a kind of yeast infection that is caused by a fungi or yeast. Among the different kinds of Candida, the most widespread is the Candida Albicans. These fungi actually live throughout our body surfaces. However, they can be very numerous and can cause infection under certain circumstances. This condition happens particularly in our body’s moist and warm areas. The most common infections include vaginal yeast infection, rashes in the skin and diaper areas, thrush and nail bed infections.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection

The symptoms of yeast infection can be different. It depends upon the infection location. In women a common symptom of yeast infection in the vagina is a thick, white, unpleasant discharge. This discharge usually causes the irritation and itching of the surrounding tissues and the vagina itself. In some instances, it may cause pain during sexual activity and burning while urinating.

In adults and infants, however, candidal infection can be seen in different forms. Thrush is the term used for oral candidiasis. On the tongue, thick patches on top can form. These patches can also be seen in the palate or anywhere inside the mouth. They sometimes appear like milk curds but you cannot remove them by wiping. This kind of infection can be excruciating and can cause difficulty in eating. Secondary care should be given so that proper nutrition will be maintained to avoid further complications. It is important to give adequate care to a thrush patient to make sure that he or she is not dehydrated.

Over the years, there have been great developments regarding the natural cure of yeast infection. What is good about natural treatments is that they work on the root cause of the infection thus, not only eliminating existing outbreaks, but also, more importantly, helping prevent the initial occurrence of any further infection.
